Why I Paint...
Painting has been an important part of my life, but it is the process of painting that brings me discovery and satisfaction.
Using paint and paper I attempt to create an image -- something that reveals a very personal vision of the world around me. I begin the process with shapes, colors and lines, and at some point I recognize something developing on the paper or canvas that reflects a rhythm or a mood that is as personal as my signature.
The image may be gentle or passionate or express a mood or capture a particular scene or experience, but it represents the essence of something that is a reality to me. My work might be described as eclectic, running the gamut from the figurative to the abstract, depending ... it remains a mystery to me.
