M. McIntosh - Paintings Inspired By My Travels
Living and working in Bangladesh and
Cambodia was a very special experience for me. Therefore I
wanted to include some of the paintings I created while I was there
on this website. Several of my paintings remain in those countries.
Bangladesh
- The first three paintings were painted In Bangladesh on the
beautiful handmade paper that the women produce in the villages. I
found the country landscape so rich and bountiful and the
Bangladeshi people so handsome -- particularly the women in their
saris working in the fields and children so proud of themselves
walking to school in their spiffy uniforms. One of my favorite
paintings is that of the Bangladeshi Women.
Cambodia - The last
three painting were painted in Cambodia. Cambodia offers so much
inspiration: the gentleness of the people, the charm of the
villages, the rich and varied countryside, the wonderful
architecture ranging from the palaces, the Buddhist Watts to the
ancient and historic Angkor Watt. Most of the paintings I did in
Cambodia were done in oils..
