M. McIntosh Gallery
The M. McIntosh Gallery is organized into
eight web spaces. Below you will also find a link to view the work
of my artist friends.
The first section includes
Recent Art Work. Usually
a brief explanation is included on what inspired these paintings.
Inspiration may come from any number of different sources: my home,
my travels, my family, my garden etc. As I mentioned previously,
style often coincides with the subject and the materials I am
working with at the time. A good portion of my work is done on
handmade paper.
The second section includes Paintings Inspired by My
Travels. I have been inspired to
paint by all my experiences travelling in Europe, Canada and the USA, but most of my paintings of my
travels come from living and doing service overseas in Bangladesh
and Cambodia.
The third section includes
Plum
Island Scenes. I am fortunate that Plum Island is the place I
call home. Inspiration abounds any season of the year on the island.
The fourth section includes
Landscapes
inspired by some of my other favorite places and also from my
travels in the USA and overseas.
The fifth section includes
Floral & Still Life
inspired by my gardens and my home. Outside of painting and
gardening, cooking is my favorite pastime. And so the still life is
a natural for me.
The sixth section includes
Portraits, Figures
inspired by members of my (good-looking) family, my travels and
sometimes by a principle expressed in an individual personage.
The seventh section includes
Abstracts.
These paintings often result from insight gained through some
of my other paintings.
The eighth section includes two of my most talented
Artist Friends - (the web gallery wings)
Ed Mair - A well-known and
talented Plum Island Photographer
John T. Kingman
- An
accomplished watercolor artist who recently moved to Plum Island.
